Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of counseling
One major benefit of counseling may be a resolution of the concerns which you or your child initially brought to therapy. Other possible benefits often include a better ability to cope with interpersonal relationships or other life stressors, a greater understanding of personal goals, and increased personal insight.
Do you accept insurance?
I am no longer in-network with any insurance companies but I can give you a superbill so you can try to get reimbursed directly from your insurance using your out-of-network benefits.
Do you offer crisis counseling?
As I cannot offer same day counseling sessions, I do not offer crisis counseling. You can contact the local Kittitas County community crisis response number at 509-925-4168, go to an emergency room, or call the National Suicide Hotline number at 988 if you are in crisis.
How long does each therapy session take?
The first initial session is called an intake and takes 55-60 minutes. This will be where I learn more about you and your history and the goals you’d like to work on. Subsequent sessions are 55 minutes and are generally on a weekly basis.
How often do I need to come to counseling?
It is recommended that clients attend therapy sessions every week at the start of their treatment. As progress is made, the time between sessions can be extended to longer intervals.
