Counseling for Adults

Life can be challenging, and at times it may feel overwhelming to navigate difficult emotions, relationships, or life transitions alone. Adult therapy provides a supportive, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences while developing tools that promote healing, clarity, and personal growth.

In our work together, I focus on helping you better understand patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while building practical strategies to support lasting change. Therapy is a collaborative process designed to strengthen resilience, increase self-awareness, and help you move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Through therapy, you may experience:

Improved Mental Health
Addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress can lead to meaningful improvements in emotional wellbeing and daily functioning.

Greater Self-Awareness
Gaining insight into your thoughts, emotions, and experiences can help you make more intentional choices and navigate life with greater clarity and confidence.

Stronger Coping Skills
Developing effective strategies for managing stress, difficult emotions, and life challenges can build resilience and emotional balance.

Healthier Relationships
Improving communication, boundaries, and emotional understanding can foster deeper, more fulfilling connections with partners, family, and others.

Progress Toward Personal Goals
Therapy can help you clarify your goals, overcome obstacles, and create meaningful change aligned with your values.

Whether you are facing a specific challenge or seeking personal growth, therapy can be a powerful step toward greater wellbeing and a more fulfilling life.

Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)

In addition to talk therapy, I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective, evidence-based approach that helps individuals heal from the emotional distress caused by traumatic or overwhelming experiences. EMDR is recognized as an effective treatment for trauma by organizations such as the World Health Organization, the American Psychological Association, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Just as the body naturally heals physical wounds, the brain has the ability to heal from emotional injuries. Sometimes difficult experiences can overwhelm the brain’s natural processing system, leaving memories feeling “stuck” and continuing to cause distress. EMDR helps the brain process these experiences so they no longer hold the same emotional intensity, allowing many people to experience relief and move forward with greater clarity and resilience.

In addition to traditional sessions, I also offer EMDR Intensives. Intensives provide longer, focused sessions that allow us to work through specific memories or concerns more efficiently. Many clients choose intensives when they want to make meaningful progress in a shorter period of time without the stop-and-start of weekly therapy.

EMDR can be helpful for:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Depression

  • Phobias

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Distressing or overwhelming life experiences

  •

Many people find that EMDR helps them experience meaningful progress more quickly than traditional talk therapy alone. If you would like to learn more about how EMDR works, watch the video below.

Sand Tray therapy

What is Sandtray? Adult Explainer Video
04:20

Sand Tray Therapy offers a gentle and powerful way to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences—especially when they may be difficult to express with words. Using miniature figures and a tray of sand, clients create scenes that represent their inner world, allowing deeper feelings and experiences to emerge in a safe and supportive way.

This approach can be particularly helpful for processing trauma or complex emotions without needing to verbally relive painful experiences. By creating scenes from a third-person perspective, clients often gain new insight into their thoughts, feelings, and patterns.

During sessions, you guide the process while I observe, support, and gently facilitate reflection. The goal is to help you explore your experiences, develop new perspectives, and discover your own solutions and pathways toward healing.S

and Tray Therapy can be helpful for:

Trauma and difficult life experiences

Anxiety and stress

Emotional processing and self-discovery

Relationship challenges

Personal growth and insight

Through creative expression and reflection, Sand Tray Therapy can help uncover deeper understanding and support meaningful emotional healing.
